For open type cooling tower, the impact of water quality is much more serious than that of closed type cooling tower. Because the circulation of the open type cooling tower is relatively simple, the spray water is recycled to the spray through the water pump and pipeline, and then returned to the pool. In this process, the spray water has been distributed in every process, and the supporting heat exchanger is also required when used in some industries, so the poor water quality will also affect the inner wall of the heat exchanger. The internal circulation of the closed type cooling tower is separated from the external circulation. Only the external circulation uses the spray water and only passes through the outer wall of the condenser. Water quality has different effects on open type cooling tower and closed type cooling tower.
Whether it is an open type cooling tower or a closed type cooling tower, the scale of the open type cooling tower will inevitably occur. The scale of the open type cooling tower is mainly concentrated on the filler, the scale of the closed type cooling tower is mainly concentrated on the outer wall of the condenser, and some will be attached to the inner wall of the cooling tower. Scale is alkaline, which must corrode the tower wall, condenser and packing of the cooling tower.

The scale is usually attached to the surface of the filler, but the filler is a layer of good plastic, and the scale component is relatively large. The filler will be torn and damaged for a long time, affecting the normal operation, and needs to be replaced when necessary.

Scale attached to the packing and the surface of the condenser will affect the heat dissipation effect and ventilation effect. The circulating air mainly exchanges heat through the gap between the filler and the condenser. The scale will occupy part of the space and reduce the ventilation. In addition, the scale will affect the heat dissipation effect of the filler and the condenser.

The main effect of the spray head is to atomize the spray water and spray evenly. The oil impurities will block the spray head, resulting in uneven spraying in the space, resulting in some dry points or the drying of some fillers, which will cause the cooling tower to catch fire under high heat.
