The de-waterer is used to capture large water droplets captured in the cooling tower air stream. The dewaterer prevents water droplets and mist from escaping the cooling tower. They do this by causing the droplets to change direction and lose velocity when they hit the blade walls and fall back into the cooling tower.
There are three main types of water removers used in cooling towers and they are designed for the purposes described above, viz:
Counter flow
Cross-flow integrated
Cross-flow non-integrated
There are only a few materials currently used by manufacturers for water removers. However, this makes the choice easier and does not necessarily compromise quality as they are also designed to maximise their use.
Polypropylene (PP) - a recyclable material that is both a plastic and a fibre, polypropylene is more heat-resistant than PVC.PP is also moisture-resistant, but tends to degrade with prolonged exposure to UV light.
Polyvinyl Chloride (PVC) - the most commonly used and lowest cost PVC de-waterer, it is corrosion resistant. However, PVC also produces toxic by-products.
Metal - Steel dewaterers are stronger and ideal for use in high temperatures and containerised transport. However, metal is prone to corrosion but can be reinforced with a coating for protection.
Feature 1: the special cooling tower drift eliminator for BAC has high water collection efficiency. The field test by the national authoritative testing department shows that the floating water loss of the drift eliminator is less than 0.001% according to the circulating water volume, which is only one tenth of the allowable value of the national standard, reaching the advanced level of similar foreign products;
Feature 2: low resistance and energy saving - low airflow resistance. Under the condition of 2.8m/s wind speed, the ventilation resistance loss is about 0.8mm H2O, which is lower than that of foreign similar products;
Feature 3: water saving and environmental protection greatly reduces the floating water loss of the cooling tower, reduces the supplementary water volume and the use of treatment chemicals in the circulating water system, and reduces the floating water impact on the surrounding environment;
Feature 4: protect the fan - avoid cutting high humidity air when the fan blade is rotating at high speed, which can prolong the service life of the blade by 2 ~ 3 years;
Feature 5: high strength, easy installation and maintenance -- the water collector of BAC cooling tower adopts machine-made molding to ensure the consistency of molding. The special socket connector is used between the plates to make it have good use strength and overall rigidity, and the installation and maintenance is extremely convenient;
Feature 6: long life design - modified PVC material contains an imported carbon black material so that the BAC cooling tower receiver has superior UV resistance, anti-aging and mechanical properties. Under normal service conditions, the service life can be up to 20 years.
