The cross flow tower is the abbreviation of cross flow cooling tower. The cross flow tower refers to equipment that the fresh air was forced suctioned from two sides under the action of the fan and motor, while the water drops flow from top to bottom in the filler by gravity.

The flow direction of the air and water is 90° angle, mass transfer and heat transfer are carried out in the filler.

How does it work?

The hot process fluid enters the tube bundle from the inlet, and the spray system and fan system are started at the same time. The water spray flows downward. The heat of the process fluid is transferred to the circulating spray water flowing through the outer surface of the tube bundle through heat transfer through the tube wall. The process fluid cools and flows out of the outlet. A large amount of air enters through the air inlet louvers and flows through the unit at right angles to the water spray. A small amount of water evaporates and flows through the drain eliminator, which collects excess moisture into the water tank. The remaining water is exhausted from the top of the unit to the atmosphere in the form of hot saturated steam. Most of the heat is absorbed by the water spray. The hot spray water flows downward through the filler, transferring heat with the filler and cooling it. It then falls into the bottom tank, circulates through the water pump to the sprinkler system, and then returns to the pipe bundle.
